Prototyping a Rover - a long over due update
It's been a while but I have not been still. The rover project has moved on quite a bit and has had some upgrades. It now has a claw, which is not yet activated but perhaps more importantly it has 2 FH180 DC motors which are quite "torquey" and it is using 7.4v camera batteries to move. This is not a permanent power solution but for the meantime it lets me prototype and see how things work. It also has now got an info screen on the remote, also being prototyped, that gets the data off the rover and will get the data of its surroundings. At the moment, this info screen simply displays, direction, motion, speed and reports if the rover is online or not (by showing if data is incoming or not). There are a multitude of other things to put on it and in the end of the project I will show a "big reveal" about the project. But for now, here's the rover being tested during the snow last December & some shots of its info screen on the remote. Until next time,
